Doosan Machine Tools was founded in 1967 and established in Seoul, South Korea. At first Doosan came into the market producing manual turning and machining centers. Currently Doosan manufactures a wide variety of different machine tools including vertical and horizontal turning centers, vertical and horizontal machining centers, Drilling & Tapping machines, boring mills, gantry mills and accessory robotics. Doosan machines are known for their integral box guideways, high horsepower motors, high speed milling, heavily ribbed cast iron structure and top of the line precision. Doosan machinery provides manufacturers with best-in-class performance, high-productivity and exceptional accuracy. Producing machines in both South Korea and the United States allows Doosan to reach a global market. Doosan’s most successful model is the Puma series, a heavy duty machine that can now be equipped with box ways or linear guideways. Lynx series is a smaller machine that offers high-productivity turning in a compact size. Doosan offers many different options and configurations such as milling, drilling, tapping, y-axis, twin-spindle, twin-turret and ram-type. In 1994 they introduced Daewoo Machinery, a subsidiary, exporting CNC machine tool manufacturing technology to Asia. Today Doosan is known as Doosan Global operating under 5 different companies: Doosan Corporation, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Doosan Infracore, Doosan Engineering & Construction, and Doosan Engine.
