About Fanuc Machine Tools

Headquartered at Mount Fuji Japan, Fanuc is the world’s leading manufacturer of CNC Control Systems. Dr. Seiuemon Inaba founded Fanuc in 1956 and changed the way machines run today by his technological advances in automation. Fanuc has now produced over 19.5 million machining systems and 25 million automation products. There are three layers of the Fanuc company that includes the FA Business Division (based in NC and SERVO), the Robot business division, and the Robomachine business divisions. In 1982 they teamed up with GM to research, develop and produce robotics for manufacturing assembly lines. They are by far the largest manufacturer of industrial robots dominating the field. Over the years Fanuc has turned itself into a force by partnering and owning over 240 different subsidiaries in the manufacturing sector. During this time they started to develop their own line of machine tools and brought to the market Robodrill, a vertical machining center with high quality and precision for milling, drilling and tapping. The machine was built to be one of the fastest machines on the market. With a tool change of less than .7 seconds it's able to produce parts at a faster rate. As you might guess, all of their machines, controllers, amplifiers and motors are Fanuc components. Their machines are used in many different industries including: mold and tool making, jewelry and watch manufacturing, medical, and many others. The company is now located in 100 different countries and with innovation continues to grow. As of 2020 their factories in Japan each month can produce up to 35.000 CNC controls, 170.000 servo motors plus 103.000 servo amplifiers, 7000 robots and 3550 machines.
