This company originally was formed in 1945 by a man named Kwon Seung Gwan calling his company Tomoe Iron Works. It wasn't until 1952 that Kwon Seung Gwan changed the name of the company to Hwacheon Machine Tool Company and started researching, developing and manufacturing machine tools. With continued success came increased production and in 1969 the company was moved to a new manufacturing plant in Gwangju Industrial Complex, South Korea. As the company grew so did its capabilities and in 1978 they established two subsidiary companies called Hwacheon Gears Industries and Hwacheon Chucks. In 1983 Hwacheon produced its first CNC milling machine tool, the first time it was done in Korea. In the mid- 1980s the company started to expand globally and in 1985 established a presence in the United States. Not only does Hwacheon build their own product line but they also supply casting products and robotics to other CNC machinery builders. In 2000 Hyundai Motor Company awarded Hwacheon with a contract to build the cylinder blocks for their engines. Today along with producing CNC turning centers and machining centers they also manufacture SMART machines, metal 3D printers, multi axis CNC machinery, software and materials. Hwacheon's principles of perseverance, diligence, and honesty reflect their 'Best Quality' policy and generation of values. Check in at Hwacheon’s website for added information and resources on its product line. With over 75 years in the machine tool industry you can see why today it is a global leader in the field.
