About Rollomatic Tool Grinders

Francis Rollier started a company called Rollier SA in 1964 to help make tooling for the watch making industry located in La Neuveville, Switzerland. The fist model tool and cutter grinder machine tool created for fluting and relief cuts arrived in 1977, This was called the Roll-o-matic. With the success of their original machine the company changed into a manufacturer of not just tooling but also manufacturer of machine tools changing the name of the company to Rollomatic. They dove into the CNC market in 1985 by creating their first CNC tool and cutter grinder with a positioning system. To add diversity to Rollomatic’s product line in 1992 they developed their own CNC cylindrical grinder to shape outside diameters of turned cylinders. With success came expansion as Rollomatic set up an office in Chicago, Illinois United States in early 1994. Now Rollomatic has offices all over the world having offices and plants in over 25 different countries. Today Rollomatic SA is known for their high precision CNC machine tools for tool and cylindrical grinding applications along with a line of laser cutting machines for hardened materials. By specializing in the CNC grinding industry they are able to center on specific applications creating many different types of machines and technologies such as: tooling software, robotic loaders, creep feed grinding, thread grinding machinery, profile grinders, wheel dressing systems, transfer machines, Laser measurement systems and roundness testers.
